Be Forward Wanderers fans have expressed disappointment over the decision made by the team’s executive to release striker Zicco Mkanda who signed for rivals Nyasa Big Bullets.
Mkanda netted three goals in Bullets’ TNM Super League two matches over the weekend.
He scored a first half brace on Saturday when Bullets beat Mzuzu Warriors 3-0 before another goal on Monday in their 2-0 win over Mighty Tigers FC.
Mkanda posted some of his pictures in action against Tigers on his Facebook page with a tag “Good fight, great team work, 3 points in the bag.. We are Maule, #Godovereverything#.”
Nomads fans rushed to the page to express their disappointment with their executive.
“We lost a good player, I blame our executive for lack of seriousness,” one fan commented
Another added, “painful to see you helping our neighbour but why did they let you go?”
While the third one said “Our executive made a big mistake to release you.”
Mkanda joined Wanderers from Mozambican side Desportivo de Maputo in 2018 and he made 62 appearances in two seasons scoring 30 goals.
In his second year at the Wanderers, the towering striker failed to replicate his first season perfomance as he lost his first choice place to newcomer Babatunde Adepoju.
He only managed to score less than ten goals in all competitions.
He completed his move to Nyasa Big Bullets in 2020 after the expiry of his contract with the Nomads.
He has scored five league goals in eight matches for the Peoples team.
