The family of former President Bakili Muluzi has announced that they will construct a cancer ward at one of the central hospitals in the country.
The move was announced by Muluzi’s son, Atupele on his on his official Facebook page.
He said the construction of the ward will be in honor of the late ormer First Lady Madam Anne Chidzira Muluzi who died on December 28, 2021 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Muluzi died of cancer at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi after a long battle of cancer.
“In her memory and honour, the family has decided to construct a cancer ward at one of the central hospitals to the specifications and guidance from the Ministry of Health which will be called THE ANNE MULUZI CANCER WARD.
“We understand that there are so many people in Malawi suffering from cancer and we intend to contribute to establishing an in-patient facility specifically designed to make cancer patient stay and care as comfortable as possible for the patient and loved ones. It will be dedicated to providing a serene environment, an ambience of graceful comfort and care during difficult times. In her loving memory,” said Muluzi
