MANEB introduces E-payment and registration

The Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) has introduce the new E- payment and registration of examination fees to students who want to sit for examinations.

Briefing the members of the press in Lilongwe on Wednesday MANEB Executive Director  Dorothy Nampota says the new E- payment and registration will  help the candidates to register on time and also it will promote transparency and accountability among the teachers who used to embezzle students examination fee.

She also said that the process will to eradicate problems faced by students when using manually process.

Nampota added that the E- payment and registration phase one was attempted in 2021 in Zomba urban and rural which very was successful.

She said the phase two initiative will be conducted based on education division like Northern Education Division which comprises of Chitipa, Karonga, Rumphi, Mzimba , Mzuzu and Lions districts.

While in Central West Division which comprises of Mchinji, Lilongwe, Ntcheu, Dedza and Nkhotakota.

She said the Southern Education Division has Machinga, Mangochi, Balaka and Zomba urban and rural.

The payment will be conducted through Mpamba, Airtel money and other banks. And the school will require to have computer and teachers will be trained for the initiative.

Nampota added that the initiative will start on 4th January to 18th February 2022

She urged all stakeholders to support the initiative.

On his part Director of Education in the Ministry of education science and technology James Manyetera   said the initiative need public stakeholders commitment and political will support.
