Karonga United have warned to spoil Nyasa Big Bullets’ party as the two teams clash at Kamuzu stadium on Saturday afternoon on the last weekend of the TNM Super League 2020-2021 soccer season.
The game seems to be a ceremonial match as Bullets were already declared champions two weeks ago.
Bullets defended the TNMsuper league championship for a third consecutive season thanks to Blue Eagles’ 3-0 hammering of Bullets’ closet Challenger Mighty Wanderers.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s match Karonga Coach Dan Dzinkambani said while on paper the game looks a ceremonial match for Karonga the game has its own meaning as a win for Ingwina will see them leapfrog Civo into fourth place.
“Yes they were declared champions and we congratulate them for that but don’t expect us to show any respect when we line up against them in Saturday afternoon,” said Dzinkambani.
According to Dzinkambani all his charges are geared up for the match as there are no serious injury concerns in his camp.
“It wasn’t a good trip to Blantyre as we were delayed by a breakdown but we thank God that we have arrived in Blantyre and I’ve told players to put that behind and focus on our mission which is to collect maximum points,” said Dzinkamban.
The former Silver Strikers mentor said they are not in Blantyre to witness Blantyre being crowned but to spoil the party as they aim to become the only side to collect all 6 points over Bullets this season.
“We have not come here just to witness them crowned the championship but we have the mission to win and move ahead of fourth placed Civo Service United who are two points above us. We will fight hard and display our beautiful football and I believe after 90 minutes we will carry the day,” he said
It will be the second meeting for the two sides this season with the first round game had ended 1-0 in favour of Karonga United at their backyard.
Before the match Nyasa Big Bullets will receive guard of honor from Karonga United to show their respect to this year’s Champions.
The People’s Team have reached 16 League Titles since the introduction of Super League in 1984 and they are the most successful League winners in the country.
