IT expert develops Media Player Application (MPA)

A youthful Information and Communications Technology (ICT) expert Chisomo Daka has built a Media Player Application (MPA) called Airwave Media Player (AMP).

In an interview with The Atlas Malawi, Daka who is Managing Director at Airwave Technologies (Malawi) said the current version of 1.0.0 (like AMP-1.0.0) was officially released on 22nd February, 2021.

“It is a Windows supported software application which comes with cool features like Transparent Background, Active Playlist Tray, Video Streaming, Image Visualization etc. AMP-1.0.0 also supports the following file formats: Audio(*.mp3, *.m4a, .wav etc.), Videos (.mp4 and .mpeg-4) and Images (.png, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.gif etc.). Advanced versions of this software will in the near future support even more file formats for better home entertainment.

“This Software is licensed under the AMP EULA License which allows free access and free usage with definitive proprietary restrictions under Airwave Technologies (Malawi).

“Our prospective customers, clients and stakeholders can download and freely use the Malawian Developed Software Innovation, upon agreement with the provisions in our software License, Terms and Policy, via the official download website link provided below,” he said.

Daka said meanwhile, their doors are open to all good willing individuals, companies and organizations who would like to sponsor them, directly or anonymously, so that they develop more AMP features and sustain the maintenance and support service for the software.

Airwave Technologies is a Malawian based Computing and Technology Startup Company founded by Chisomo Daka in February, 2017 and it has since been registered to operate under the laws of Malawi.

Daka’s initial inspiration for a much better Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry in Malawi and across the realms of the developing world originated from his contribution as a co-author and editor, along with Jonathan Pinifolo, of the book titled “ICT Infrastructural Development in the Developing World” which was published in Germany on 5th January, 2017.

Daka is not only the Founder but he also serve as the incumbent Managing Director at Airwave Technologies (Malawi).

He graduated from the University of Malawi (UNIMA) at Chancellor College (CHANCO) in 2015 with a Bachelor of Education Science degree (Physics & Math), he also holds a Master of Science in Physics degree from LPU in India along with other professional certificates. Chisomo is also an active advocate of Scientific and Technological Innovations among the youth and he strongly believes in the notion for adoption of local tech solutions.
