Civo Service united massacres Ntopwa FC 4-0 to dislodge rivals Silver Strikers at the summit of the TNM Super League log table.
The Servants who drew 1-1 against Mighty Tigers yesterday, took the lead midway in the first half through Muhammad Sulumba before Moses Banda added a second few minutes before halftime.
In the second half it was Blessings Tembo and Binwell Katinji who completed the slaughter of Amaghetto Boys.
The win has helped Civo Service United to return at the top of TNM Super League log table with 24 points from 12 games and they replaced Silver Strikers who have 22 points from 10 games.
Civo Service United coach Franko Ndawa said:”it was a tough game Ntopwa played well but we changed our game plan and we started hitting them during buildup forcing them to make mistakes which we capitalised to get goals”
On the other hand Ntopwa FC Team Manager Isaac Osman slammed poor standard of play displayed by Civo saying his team was a better side dispite the loss.
“Am happy despite the loss, we really played well but the aerial ball displayed by our opponents disturbed our play”0
At Civo Stadium, a William Mwalwimba’s 28th minute goal from the spot has handed Karonga United a 1-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks.
The Soldiers dominated first 20 minutes of the match but shooting on target was their main problem until the visitors were awarded a penalty following a hand ball in the box.
The goal gave confidence to Ingwina and they dominated the last 15 minutes of the first half.
Kamuzu Barracks made changes in the second half as they brought in World Nkuliwa, Chimwemwe Chisambi, Harvey Nkacha and Sam Gunda for Blessings Kawanga, Ndaon5a Daisi, Sammy Chiponda and Davie Banda and the changes helped them to raise their game but their oponents were film at the back.
Karonga United coach Dan Dzimkambani pulled out Mphatso Kamanga for Khumbo Msowoya and Sheriff Shamama for Chimwemwe Mywanga to contain KB pressure and they clung to their slender lead until the end.
The Karonga outfit has moved to eight position with 15 points from 12 games displacing Be Forward Wanderers who have returned to the tenth with 13points from Ten games.
After the match Karonga United coach Dan Dzimkambani said:”It was a very tough encounter our opponents were too physical but i told my boy to endure and5 focus on scoring and win the match now am happy with the victory”
His counterpart Charles Kamanga hailed Karonga United for displaying good football.
“Congratulations to Karonga United they outplayed us in all departments, my players did not apply what we told them during training maybe the covid break has affected my players but we will go back and work on the error” said Kamanga
