Foundation to construct a community center in Kasiya

Our Aim Foundation has engaged government in establishing of a three-acre solar-powered Holistic Community Center at Kasiya in Lilongwe.

Chairperson for the foundation, Shobi Jiwa revealed the development on Wednesday when State house and Ministry of Education officials visited Tongozala community center in Mchinji.

“We want to establish community center at Kasiya that will be composed of different infrastructure such as a compound houses, clinic, pharmacy, learning center, orphanage, and playground and sports complex, just to mention a few,” he said.

He added that the community center would assist the government in promoting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and early childhood development program including women empowerment.

“Through community centers, women will learn sewing and business savvy, so that they can empower themselves economically and achieve independence,” he added.

He also said that the foundation will also drill boreholes that will supply clean water to villagers surrounding Kasiya Holistic community center to be constructed.

Chief Advisor to the President on Rural Transformation and Development, Adamson Mkandawire thanked the foundation for the initiative and encouraged them to establish the community center.

“Community center to be established at Kasiya in Lilongwe, will improve lives for both youth and elders surrounding Kasiya communities,” he said

Group Village Tongozala said before the establishment of the holistic community center by Our Aim Foundation their community member walks a long distance to access clean water, healthcare services and among others.

“The community center offered by Our Aim Foundation acted as a one of the focal points for the fight against malaria and HIV, rural villages experience high infant mortality and infrequent access to basic survival provisions,” he said.

Our Aim Foundation is non-profitable non-governmental organisation works in Malawi including America, India, Pakistan and Rohingya Refugee Camps in Bangladesh.

The organisation started working in Salima with a water support project, currently its implementing a holistic community center in Mchinji.
