Oscar Kaunda has joined Karonga United after resigning as an assistant coach of Be Forward Wanderers after two years in charge following financial crisis at the club.
Confirming with The Atlas Malawi, Kaunda said he was “very delighted” to join his home town side.
Despite having many offers on the table, he said his passion for now is to serve his people.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the Lali Lubani outfit is set to appoint former captain Joseph Kamwendo as their new assistant coach.
In an interview, Kamwendo said it will be a great honour to be given such a big role at Wanderers and he is ready to accept the offer.
“If given that opportunity it will be a great honour and I will definitely accept, I have been a player and a supporter for the team and I know this team inside out. It won’t be a tough task as I am aware of the challenges that exists at the club,” he said
Since his resignation from active football in 2019, Kamwendo has been offered different coaching roles as Wanderers reserve side coach, Flames U20 assistant as well as Walter Nyamirandu Academy Coach.
