The hosts had a ball into the net after 42 minutes but the goal was disallowed for infringement on goalkeeper Charles Thom. The Flames continued their drab display in the second half as they kept defending in numbers. Deep inside the second half Mario Marian Marinica brought in Chikoti Chirwa, Micium Mhone, Yamikani Chester and Alick Lungu for Chimwemwe Idana, Khuda Myaba, Stain Davie and Stanley Sanudi to tighten up their defence. If Bullets is at 45 percent, then it’s a nuclear bomb at 100 percent

Opinion by Hastings Katsonga: Nyasa Big Bullets opened a four point gap at the top of the summit thanks to a 3-1 win over Silver Strikers on Saturday afternoon and a Blue Eagles goalless draw against Kamuzu Barracks on the same day. Meanwhile, the team is yet to taste a defeat. They just have two draws and recorded 10 wins to collect 32 points from possible 36 this season. But their coach, Callisto Pasuwa believes the team is just not good as he wants it to be. "So far we are at 45 , there are a lot to learn, we make mistakes when playing an organised team that shows that we are too far." Said Pasuwa before their 2-0 win over TN Stars in Week 10 of the league. Yes, they are too far according to the Zimbabwean tactician but they have already beaten teams like Mighty Wanderers, C...

Flames expediency: Gymnastics of sweat and sacrifice!

“The robbed that smiles, steals something from the thief.” (William Shakespeare) With Christopher Njeula: The Wallias of Ethiopia came, saw but they miserably failed to conquer. In a fashion that has never been their trademark, Flames of Malawi had the strength to remain resilient. It’s a sign of a title winning team that they can still win when nowhere near their best. They kept the Ethiopians smiling as the perceived deserved robber was being undone behind the plastic shrewd smiles of Marinica’s magnificent eleven. The game of football is undeniably measured by results, weighed upon by statistics and conjured by positive outcomes. The fashion in which the Flames of Malawi approached the Ethiopian game, clearly indicated they knew their opponent technically: The discipline to ...
